DC Police start investigation – It’s a Gun! You can’t have a gun in DC!

‘But it’s illegal,’ the anti-gunners say. ‘You can ‘t have an AR-15 in Washington D.C.!’ And so, according to The Hill, ‘they’ (whoever they are) have referred “materials” to the DC Police to start an investigation into an inoperable, patriotic weapon that hangs in Representative Ken Buck’s office. It all started with a tweet last week that contained a photo:

Liberals have nothing better to do than look for an excuse to arrest Rep Trey Gowdy and Rep Ken Buck.

“I have a very patriotic AR-15 hanging in my office. It hangs directly above my Second Amendment flag… While safety protocols call for all guns to be treated as if they are loaded, this one isn’t. Further, a close inspection of the only public photo of the rifle will show that the bolt carrier assembly is not in the rifle; it is in fact in Colorado. It is a beautiful, patriotic paper weight.” Ken Buck

It’s ok , Congressman, they’d go after you if it was a tortilla or a cookie made in the shape of a gun.  They are looking for one little screw up to jump on to make strong conservatives look foolish. This time, however, they look pretty stupid themselves.

“It is illegal to possess an AR-15 in the District.” DC Attorney General spokesman

The rigid stance on guns and “high capacity” magazines created a stir a few years back when David Gregory, a news anchor for Meet The Press, brought a 30 round magazine to DC as part of a news story after the Newtown shooting.  DC officials threw a fit. Ultimately, they decided not to charge him.

One would hope that these liberals will see that the gun is not operable and really IS a glorified paperweight.  Let them try charging these men with it- and see how far it goes. Trey Gowdy bites.
